SENGATAKI HOUSE

2004

Nagano, Japan

Located in a forest near the Japanese Alps, this house blurs the boundary between the building, environment and nature. It is designed to change its form over the course of different seasons. During winter, windows and shutters are closed, turning the building into a single black box protecting itself from the harsh weather, while during the summer the house opens up to its surroundings.

Use: Weekend House
