In 2014, KMDW began an advisory contract with Nihonbashi Ichinobu and has since been involved in urban development in the Nihonbashi area, including Nakagaiku (part of Nihonbashi Muromachi 1-chome), Muromachi 4-chome, and Honcho 4-chome West District. Serving as a bridge between developers and the local community, KMDW has facilitated the creation of a shared vision through workshops and events, contributed to the formulation of development plans and design rules, and played a key role in establishing a design council. Kobayashi continues to provide advice as a member of the design council to this day.
